A new beginning
Welcome.
A lot has changed since I published the first edition of Email Deliverability Explained. When it came out in 2017, I was too busy to think about creating a dedicated website. I certainly would not have had the time to commit to a blog or newsletter.
But, my life is very different now. So, the release of the second edition coincides with a new blog run from this site.
Currently, I plan to use this blog to:
Announce updates to the resources contained on the website
Answer (interesting) reader questions
Readers often email me looking for advice. In the past, I answered these on an individual basis. Sometimes many people asked variations of the same question. I did not have a blog back then, now I do. Answers to reader questions will be published here. I will only publish anonymised versions of the questions for which I have been given permission to publicly discuss.
Provide general industry commentary or observations
There are a lot of interesting protocols and initiatives in the email space that are still under development. For example, did you know that the next release of DMARC is due this year? Well I do know about that and I will use the blog to provide a summary of the proposed changes.
What I absolutely do not intend to do, is repeat press releases, or replicate the content of other deliverability focused blogs. That means you will have to go elsewhere for news of the latest provider outage, or how Gmail/Apple/Microsoft are messing up open rate metrics in some slightly new way.
The whole blogging thing is new to me and I have not worked out a schedule yet
